In an area of the world where the Pacific is vast and challenging, knowing the waters and how to get from one place to another, quickly and safely, is in the Australian DNA. It was here, as a teenager, Dave Warren began building fast boats: first, ocean racing sailboats, then big, fast catamarans, always innovative one-offs, always beautifully shaped in fiberglass and always winners. Seeking perfection in every line, squeezing every fraction of a knot from hull shape and length and engineering solutions out of need and sheer determination, set him apart.

The transition from building world-class ocean racing yachts to custom power yachts was as fluid as it was natural. The knowledge of hull shape, weight distribution, weight to strength ratios, selection of material, the importance of redundancy and the will to do it better than anyone, provided a unique and solid foundation to create custom motor yachts of truly breakthrough design and uncompromising quality.

In the early 80’s Warren Yachts began building their unique vision of the custom motor yacht, a vision shared by the most sophisticated of Australian and New Zealand yachtsmen. Influenced by the desire for speed and perfection, Warren was creating and building yachts of uncommon elegance and high performance.

In 1995, Warren Yachts, having gained a reputation as a builder whose passion and ethics were as desirable their extraordinary products, was positioned on the leading edge of a new wave. It is here the company felt most comfortable as the gurus of high speed, high style and wildly inventive engineering solutions. Warren yachts defined the Super Sport Yacht years before the class would gain recognition and acceptance. The Warren Super Nova, was a new breed. She had the first retractable hardtop in the category. Her lines were smoother and sleeker, unlike her more boxy counterparts, and the quality was extraordinary. The focus on fit, finish and material selection was true custom build throughout. The European’s who were now manufacturing fiberglass Sport Yachts were not in the same league. The company strived for perfection and understood that there are no short cuts, that there are no unsolvable engineering problems and there is no reason to build less than a perfect yacht.

In 2003, the Shipworks Group acquired Warren Yachts, retaining Dave Warren as its master builder. Its eight-acre shipyard in Brisbane, Australia is the most advanced boatbuilding operation in the region, with C&C computerized cutting machines, 100-ton crane, 650-ton travel lift and a quarter mile of deep-water frontage. Its workforce of 275 continues to grow as the company expands into new international markets with its line of custom sport yachts. Warren Yachts currently maintains fulltime service networks in the U.S., Europe and Australia.
